I discovered New Life Warehouse when I was looking for a place to donate furniture and household goods. I wanted to be sure the items I donated would be given to people in the community who needed them. I quickly transitioned from donor to volunteer as I learned about the mission of helping people start over. I never realized so many people in Tampa were sleeping on the floor because they couldn’t afford beds, or eating on their laps because they didn’t have dinner tables. Although New Life Warehouse delivers furniture and other basic necessities, it’s not about the furniture.

He is a clinical instructor at UCLA, and has been selected to be on the list for Southern California Super Doctors for 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015. Dr. Lichtman brings his extensive experience with addiction psychiatry to serving the young men of New Life House. Pat’s work in primary treatment has provided him with an opportunity to have a number of clients transition to New Life House over the past 18 years. He has seen firsthand the work that occurs there and the benefits for these young men in perpetuating their progress in recovery. Dominic is the Manager at New Life West, and  is a graduate of New Life House himself.

A referral consists of a psychosocial history, course of treatment, and medical records as well as contact information to schedule a screening interview. We support and offer medication-assisted treatment (Vivitrol, Suboxone, Neltrexone). As I looked at the non-profit organizations, I noticed that they needed this support for their families as well. Many families loose everything they have due to incarceration, loss of a job, rehab, a traumatic event, and human trafficking.

New Life House directors and managers are sober and in recovery themselves. This allows them to impart valuable advice and support to young men currently going through the houses. Healing within like-minded communities is essential for a young man’s recovery from addiction. Having a support system and sober friends aids with the difficulty young adults face in today’s social climate. Participating in a community of like-minded men helps to keep them from social scenes such as bars, nightclubs, and house parties where alcohol and drugs can be easily accessed.

We believe that it takes the personal experience of someone who has recovered from drug abuse to know what it takes to break the cycle of substance abuse and identify with the individual. This personal connection can make all the difference in the world when it comes to learning to live a healthy lifestyle in sobriety. We believe that for your loved one to successfully recover, the process should be a partnership. Our family program structure is built to provide support, guidance, and education every step of the way. We also involve community healing by connecting families within the home to create a network of support and accountability. New Life House Structured Recovery Community for Young Men

These can include an emphasis on age-specific housing and an active alumni community. I was introduced to New Life Warehouse (NLW) by my wife, five years ago, when the mission was still being run out of Stephanie’s garage. Even then, it was clear that this ministry was powered by compassion, faith, and a deep commitment to helping others. New Life Warehouse collects used furniture and household goods from people in the community and delivers them to families recovering from homelessness.

Howard Barker handles all of the outreach and community engagement at New Life House. He works to spread education and awareness on issues surrounding mental health and substance abuse as well as help families navigate the difficult waters of getting a loved one help. Howard New Life House Review has spent the past 8 years working with young adults and their families, being a support during times of crisis.

New Life is a halfway house located in Los Angeles, making it easily accessible to locals. We offer multiple locations, and all facilities are conveniently located near an assortment of attractions, such as beaches and parks. To add, public transportation within town provides easy access to our halfway houses.

Staff

Additionally, the staff monitors the daily activity of the residents and provides crucial encouragement and support. Lastly, we offer powerful resources and vital education programs to residents. Unlike traditional sober living houses, New Life House is tailored to work specifically with young men. We believe this gender-specific and peer-based support network allows men to create meaningful relationships with others they can relate to and identify with. Additionally, a staff member oversees all house activities and manages it.
